Working Behind the Scenes
Her creative pursuits aren’t limited to performing; Joy also has an inherent enthusiasm for producing.
With a “modern” tape recorder, a very young Joy ran her own radio show, “106.1 Kid FM,” with her siblings, reaching an audience of zero.
Getting a VHS-C video camera from her dad at the age of 12, she began forcing her family to star in music videos that she directed.
Then she began winning awards for graphic and web design in high school.
Pursuing a degree in graphic design, Joy didn’t quit college; she just stopped going, but only because she couldn’t afford to keep going and she got a full-time job doing graphic design, marketing, and sales.
With hard work and good instincts, she began working for major (major) companies, bringing graphic design and marketing into each role and on personal projects with friends and family. And from 2015-2020, running operations and marketing was her full-time job.
Projects have included print and digital marketing materials, website creation, photo and video productions, presentations, slideshows, film festivals, and more.
Areas of greatest expertise include:
Graphic design and web design
Social media management
Photography and video shoot direction, production, and editing
Writing and editing
D Magazine has described her energy as "infectious."
The Column says she "definitely shines."
“She is one of the most lovely people I've worked with, and considering I've done this now for 30 years, I've worked with lots of people.”
