Fresh Air and Sunshine
FAVORITES AND RECOMMENDATIONS
“I truly believe there’s almost nothing a little fresh air and sunshine can’t fix… or at least improve.”
— Joy
Indoor/Outdoor Spa
This is the Loma de Vida spa at La Cantera in San Antonio which fully opens to the outdoors. So you get the soothing aromatherapy of the spa AND bursts of fresh air from the Texas hill country? Yes, please.
While the pools and cabanas are fun during the summer, I highly recommended visiting in the cooler months.
Kayaking
My dad introduced me to these sit-on-top kayaks, which to me are way better than a traditional kayak or a canoe. Lightweight, almost impossible to tip over, and no special training needed.
My BFF, Sam (pictured), was not into water activities until I showed her how I like to float, and now we love spending summers in and on the water together.
Hot Tub on the Patio
A hot tub on the patio in some trees, with a fireplace, gourmet kitchen, and spa-like bathroom steps away, and I don’t even care that I’m only in Oklahoma.
There are plenty of activities nearby on the lake, antique shops, and wine rooms, but just give me a pizza from Grateful Head and I’ll be right here on the patio.
Patio Drinks
I’m reminded of that meme that says something like, “I’m outdoorsy in that I like drinking on patios.” That’s me.
Floating the River
Thanks to pandemic problems, we had to take a few years off from our annual float the river trip. I bring lots of sunscreen, a giant hat, and enjoy the lazy ride.
